Dr. Larah Maunder
Welcome to my website! I’m a clinical and health psychologist, providing autism/ADHD assessments part-time in Toronto. My assessments can be done in-person or virtually.
I also work part-time at a clinic that specializes in treating folks with severe emotion regulation difficulties and borderline personality disorder. A small part of my practice also includes providing cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma therapy to clients in the Oakville area.
I completed grad school at McGill University and Queen’s University. In grad school, I received lots of training and experience conducting autism and ADHD assessments. I even started-up a virtual adult ADHD assessment service at Queen’s.
During my PhD, I researched the relationship between chronic pain and PTSD in military folks. After graduating, I completed a postdoc at McMaster University. There, I studied the effects of sexual trauma on survivors and their romantic partners, and worked on a randomized controlled trial of a new treatment for PTSD.
My background in trauma/PTSD and helping clients with emotion regulation difficulties can help you figure out whether neurodivergence, like autism and ADHD, is present when other emotion regulation concerns are there, too.
